Apparently every woman on the planet shares a common female ancestor, and every man a common male ancestor. These 2 people/humanoids did not know each other biblically or otherwise and were separated by millenia..
Yeahsiff ! I thought (for a moment).
The logistics of this struck me when invited to a 'girls' only family gathering (collective noun : 'A Coven' ), with my daughter.
My gran died at 94 years of age (she'd be 117 now...if she hadn't died of course) and mum is the oldest remaining female of her generation at 86, and there are always tiddlers rolling off the presses.
Not all the 'girls' can go - thank goodness- because if they did there would be 54 of us representing 5 generations in the same room fighting over the last cherry on the bun - all descended directly from my grandparents.
The 47 men and boys are not invited , but 25 of their wives are... swellling our numbers to, er (quick mental calculation..36 ?)....and that is just one branch of the family tree.... my granparents had several siblings each who probably bred just as prolifically.
We suspect that a 6th generation is already up and running courtesy of a cousin who is darkly referred to as 'that little whore'
Scary huh ?
So if you are in Bath in June and the National Grid goes down...
Now you know why :
Hairdryers wars !
That is where just 100 years of persistent non-solitude gets you.
Talking 'bout my generations !.........
Do we all pan-out in a wondrous Fabonacci sequence ?
